Birth Charts

1. Celestial Bodies: A birth chart includes the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto), and other celestial points (such as the North Node and Chiron) at the time and place of a person’s birth. These positions are usually recorded in degrees of the zodiac signs.
2. Zodiac Signs: The Zodiac is divided into twelve signs, each associated with specific personality traits and characteristics. The birth chart indicates which zodiac sign each celestial body was in at the time of birth. The positions of these signs in the twelve astrological houses are also considered.
3. Astrological Houses: The birth chart is divided into twelve segments known as houses. Each house represents different areas of life, such as career, relationships, family, and personal identity. The planets in the houses can give insights into how these areas of life are influenced and experienced by the individual.
4. Aspects: Aspects are angular relationships between celestial bodies. These aspects can be classified as harmonious (such as trines and sextiles) or challenging (such as squares and oppositions). Aspects provide information about how different parts of a person’s personality or life experiences interact with one another.
5. Ascendant and Descendant: The Ascendant (or rising sign) is the zodiac sign that was on the eastern horizon at the time of birth. It represents the individual’s outward behavior and first impressions. The Descendant, on the opposite side of the chart, represents how the person relates to others, particularly in close relationships.
6. Midheaven (MC) and Imum Coeli (IC): The Midheaven is the point at the top of the chart and represents one’s career, public image, and aspirations. The Imum Coeli is at the bottom of the chart and represents the person’s roots, family, and private life.
7. Transits and Progressions: Birth charts can also be used in conjunction with current planetary positions (transits) and a person’s evolving chart over time (progressions) to provide insights into future events, personal growth, and life cycles.

Astrologers analyze birth charts to gain a deeper understanding of an individual’s personality, strengths, weaknesses, life purpose, and potential challenges. It is important to note that astrology is a belief system and is not considered a science. Interpretations of birth charts can vary among astrologers, and there is no empirical scientific evidence to support its claims.
